In a world of the antics of Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan, it’s easy to lose faith with humanity. Faith can be restored with a bottle of Feral Brewing’s Hop Hog – it is simply the best beer going around.
Hop Hog has an amber, slightly cloudy colour. A combination of strong scents can be picked up on the nose, citrus and leafy being the main proponents. Malty grains come through along with lashings of citrus, which, combined with a smooth and not over-powering bitterness, makes the taste the real kicker for this IPA. In the mouth, it’s light and smooth all over, with the perfect amount of carbonation.
Feral’s name doesn’t instil confidence with drinkers that they’re going to get a good beer, but don’t judge a book by its cover – it is, without a doubt, my favourite beer. Hop Hog has the perfect balance of flavours right throughout, none of which overpower the others. There’s also something especially refreshing about this beer above all others. Perhaps it’s just the knowledge that you’re in the presence of greatness, as it’s often voted Australia’s best craft beer.
